How We Protect Your Data

  • Encrypted in transit: All data sent to/from our servers uses HTTPS/TLS
  • Cloudflare protection: Our site is protected by Cloudflare's security infrastructure
  • Minimal storage: We don't keep data longer than necessary
  • Access control: Only campaign leadership can access supporter data
  • No shared passwords: Each team member has individual credentials

Third Parties We Use

We believe in transparency. Here's every third party that may receive your data:

Service Purpose What They Receive
Cloudflare Hosting, security, Workers IP addresses, request data
Brevo Email delivery Email addresses, names (for subscribers)
GitHub Code hosting None of your personal data

We do NOT use:

  • Google Analytics or any tracking analytics
  • Facebook Pixel or social media trackers
  • Advertising networks
  • Data brokers

Build-time localization: In some blog posts we may reference externally hosted media during authoring. During the site build, we run scripts that download supported external images and rewrite pages to serve the local copies from /resources/external. This reduces third-party requests when you visit the site.

Image metadata: We run build-time image optimization that strips metadata (including EXIF) from images we host and recompresses them. This is intended to reduce file size and remove embedded metadata from published images.

Email Communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter:

  • You'll receive campaign updates, blog post notifications, and occasional calls to action
  • Every email includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately
  • We comply with CAN-SPAM and California email laws
  • We never share your email with other campaigns, organizations, or anyone else

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of all data we have about you
  • Delete: Request deletion of your data
  • Correct: Request corrections to inaccurate data
  • Unsubscribe: Opt out of emails at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email: nicholas4liberty [at] gmail.com

We'll respond within 30 days (usually much faster).

Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

  • Session cookies: To remember your preferences during a visit
  • localStorage: To save your name/email for convenience when commenting

We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies that follow you across the web.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has submitted data to us, contact us and we'll delete it.

California-Specific Rights

If you're a California resident, you have additional rights under CCPA:

  • Right to know what personal information we collect
  • Right to delete personal information
  • Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we don't sell, so this doesn't apply)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing. We don't share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.

Our Philosophy

"The right to privacy is not about having something to hide. It's about having something to protect: your autonomy, your dignity, and your freedom to think and act without surveillance."

As a libertarian campaign, we believe your personal information is your property. We collect only what's necessary to communicate with supporters and run an effective campaign. We're transparent about what we collect because you deserve to know. We do not monetize your data because that would make us no better than the surveillance state we're running against.
